this past week...

Mommy's new favorite of the Little Lion Man.

We went to a gymnastics party last weekend, the girls had a blast...here's Rowan flying high on the zip line.
And bouncing on the trampoline.
She even tackled the inflatable slide, which she normally avoids during her weekly gymnastics class.
Kaylee tackled the climbing wall with her normal cautious determination.
Boing.
Boing.
Kaylee flew on the zipline as well.
And unlike Rowan, Kaylee has no problems conquering the inflatables.
I really have to get more into pictures! What can I say, we're busy:)

Leo is now 2 weeks old!

I can't believe how fast time flies. Here's our little Lion Man, wide awake and 2 weeks old.
The veteran big sister wants to hold/hug/kiss/see Leo ALL the time! (Man this is going to be hard when Daddy goes back to work on Monday.)
Camera-loving, rookie-big-sister Rowan is getting in on the holding/kissing/loving action...just not nearly as much as the veteran.
One of my favorites so far, all ready for bed, in his comfy PJS...and wide awake :)
Ahhhh, there's the yawn, yay ready for bed.
Sorry for the lack of pictures, but I figure just a few is better than none, and things are VERY busy around here.

Welcome Baby Leo!

He's here.
Baby Leo John, was born 2-11-11 at 8lbs 3oz and 20 1/4 inches long.
Eyes popped open for some Mommy-bonding time that very first day.
Big sister Kaylee knew just what to do when she came into the room, yelling "Leeeeeeeeeeeeeo."
On Saturday the girls came back, again, Veteran Big-Sister, Kaylee shone in her role.
But Rookie Big-Sister Rowan stepped up to the plate too!
HOME RUN! Mommy's favorite pic so far.
Day 3, time to relax and chill for a while.
And the silly-but-necessary-going-home-from-the-hospital-outfit.
Kaylee welcomed her new Valentine home.
We're all home now, happy and healthy. There are tons of pics to go through and file etc, but these will just have to do for now.

Snow Day Egg Carton Crafts

Snowstorm today. We didn't have anywhere we had to be, so I sent Grant to work in the AWD so he could be safe as well.
Now...I suppose it would have been better if I managed to take some pictures of the girls actually making these crafts--but Rowan and paint and glue in the vicinity of my camera was not inspiring to me, so instead you just get to see their final products.
We started with some snowmen. Kaylee did the blue, Rowan the red. They completed the project by painting a snow-scape for their new friends.
Next up, snowmen. Some cotton balls as a base were added as well (I wish we hadn't run out, oh well.) Again, Rowan chose red; Kaylee did green this time.
Lastly, we made some caterpillars. Kaylee's has orange legs, she did it all herself.
Rowan's may look at little better--but she need A LOT of help :)
Happy snow days. Boy I am tired though, and its only lunch!

Christmas wrap-up

Sorry for the delay. Its been a tough month...and in another month it'll be tough again, 1 month from tomorrow: baby brother will arrive...weather pending.
Anyway, yes, we did celebrate Christmas.
And as the famous story goes: what did the girls like best? The giant box from the Disney Store that a bunch of their stuff came in!!!
Our tree with WAY too many gifts under it.
And in the light. Don't be jealous of our tree-topper. That's been our tradition since the first year Daddy and I got a tree together.
The girls came downstairs Christmas morning. Kaylee looked pretty excited about the massive quantities of loot under the tree...
Rowan approached with more caution.
The girls retrieved their stockings and settled on the couch to see what was inside.
Rowan donned her fairy wings almost immediately.
Rowan asked Santa for: boots and a yo-yo. (Yeah we could have gotten off really easy this year!!)
We love our new Hello Kitties.
The girls were even nice enough to give pause to allow Mommy and Daddy to open their gifts.
A snuggle for baby Rudolph.
Kaylee unwrapped her new Tag reader...but wasn't quite sure what to make of it.
But she soon figured it out...and reading is now becoming one of our favorite activities. She is really doing well on that front. Every day, in order to earn privileges to use the Tag reader, Kaylee reads a book with mommy, in which she reads a page and then Mommy reads a page, back in forth. (She even helps Mommy on her pages when Mommy needs help with certain words!)
We were happy with our new princess puzzle too.
But the present that earned the dance around the room was her new Diego Leapster game.
Then we got dressed and headed down to Grammy & Grampy's house for round 2.
Kaylee was more than happy to help Auntie Diana unwrap her gifts.
And Grampy.
Grampy needed some help, Rowan had to tell him who was in his new picture.
Hugs for the Grandparents.
And we did get a little smattering of snow that the girls played in.
Wheeeeee.
Rowan likes to 'help' shovel. I was amazed that the girls lasted as long as they did outside. It was VERY cold.
Anyway, Christmas was, of course, pretty subdued, given the circumstances. The camera was not as 'on' as I usually try to have it be on special occasions. But at least now you have a bit of it.
