Easter through St. Patrick's Day

Alright, I am not feeling very witty...but I have a fair amount of pictures so:
Here is Kaylee's Easter Basket. Cute huh?
Here is Kaylee opening one of the plastic eggs in her Easter Basket. (By the way, once again, Kaylee's finery was provided by her friend Emily...why buy dresses when I can borrow?)Here is Kaylee showing off one of her necklaces that she found inside the plastic eggs in her Easter Basket.
Here is Kaylee's winning smile after donning the necklaces she found inside the plastic eggs in her Easter Basket.
Here is Kaylee showing off all her new bling bling at once. And here is the giant Easter Ball that is almost as big as Kaylee that we couldn't resist getting her and that she hasn't put down since (well alright she's napping now sans ball, but that was not easy.)
Daddy had Friday off, so once again we headed to the museum. Kaylee seems to be a budding musician.
Or perhaps a budding paleontologist?
Or fireman?
She does seem to like to drive the truck.
Or perhaps a veterinarian. Kaylee pressed her face up to the glass at the bunny's cage for a while.
Later that day we had a little mishap with a glass of V8. We've been trying to expose Kaylee to non-sippy cups once a day, and she likes sharing Mommy's lunchtime V8--but this time she ended up wearing most of it.
Here's just a cute lounging picture I took sometime this week.
And here's our morning routine. After breakfast, but before Kaylee gets dressed she likes to climb up on the coffee table and strut her stuff.
"Mom! No pictures! I am not even dressed yet!"
Here's Daddy, Kaylee and Loofy lounging on the couch catching up on some Sesame Street.
Kaylee remembered to wear her green on St. Patty's Day and even let Mommy put some cute little pigtails in.
There was lots to do on St. Patty's Day...
First she had to read a book to Petra.
Then she had to explain the book to Petra...
OK...maybe that's all she had to do, but that was quite enough thank you very much. Kaylee needed some chill-out time after that.
And that's this week's update.

some cute pics

Well I don't have much to report. I am feeling better now that I am officially in the 2nd trimester...but I admit the camera hasn't been out that much more than it was in the 1st trimester. Here's some cute ones I took this week though.
Here's Kaylee supporting her parent's alma mater---the good ol' brown 'n' blue.
I try to limit Kaylee's TV intake, but in the afternoon I am usually pretty zonked and in order to buy a little bit of time to start dinner before Daddy gets home, I plug Kaylee into some Sesame Street time...and she loves it!
Of course, she also loves climbing on the couch and Loofy.
And insisting that Mommy read that story...again!
Here's Loofy, still recovering from his surgery. We're keeping our fingers crossed, so far so good.
And that's this week's update. More later!

OK, the news

Well its time for an update, yet again its been almost 2 weeks. I have been feeling really really crappy lately and just haven't taken many pictures. But its about time I share the news here...the reason I have been feeling crappy is because Kaylee is going to be a big sister! So that's my excuse and for a change of pace, I feel it is a good one.
I will admit that compared to last time, this pregnancy is pretty bad, but the end-game is worth it, so we'll all struggle through:)
Now, on to the Kaylee update:
On Friday, Daddy was off from work so we all went to the children's museum together. Kaylee had a blast showing Daddy around. She loved the rocking horse.
Now that's excitement right there folks!
Yesterday we went to our friend Emily's baby shower. She and Shyam are expecting their first baby, a girl who will likely be named Meena in mid-April. Kaylee borrowed her digs from her friend Emily...she wanted to be dressed up for the occasion and Heaven knows Mommy and Daddy don't buy her dresses.
Kaylee got to meet several other children at the shower...it was a family affair. She had lots of fun with the kids and the balloons.
Daddy caught a few cute pictures this morning. Kaylee's nap schedule was all messed up because of daylight savings...but you just can't keep this lil one down. Do you think she is a happy enough child?
We should put Daddy on camera duty more often, look at that smile:)
And here's an upside-down shot. Our little adrenaline junky.

a spattering of places and pictures

woohoo, I've managed to do 2 posts this month! I am still kind of on a camera hiatus, so again not too many pictures, but certainly enough to merit a blog update.
Today was playgroup today, hosted at Emily's house. Emily's daddy, Phil, decided to read to the girls...
The girls were so enthralled that Henry soon decided to get in on the book action...as long as mommy, Christina, was close by. After all, he hasn't seen this 'Phil' person but once or twice. Kaylee on the other hand, is quite familiar with her 'uncle,' as you can see she was enjoying the reading.
On Sunday, despite being rather sick Mommy and Daddy bundled up and headed outside to do some sledding. Kaylee got a sled for Christmas from her grandmother and we just haven't used it as much as I'd have liked, so we decided to make the best of it. Besides...'how long can a toddler last in the cold snow?' we asked ourselves...
Here's once down the hill.
And again, down the hill.
Kaylee made Daddy go round the yard.
"Mush Daddy!" proclaimed Kaylee. Apparently he wasn't going fast enough for her. Hmmm...do you think Kaylee has Daddy wrapped around her little finger yet?
Last Wednesday I took Kaylee to the children's museum. We hadn't been in almost 8 weeks so it was nice to go back.
Kaylee played at the rice table for a long time, filling and dumping her little purple pail. I couldn't help but quote "Blueberries for Sal" as she individually dropped rice grains into her pail "kuplink, kuplank, kuplunk." "Now what Mommy?" inquired Kaylee, "I'm bored."
I told her to deliver the mail.
And she did.
Here's a few pictures to remind everyone that Kaylee truly is Daddy's little girl. Her favorite toy is easily his laptop. Now that she's more mobile, she scales the sofa to get to it if we're not paying close enough attention.
She is very interested in all technology: cell phones, regular phones, the television, the desktops upstairs...but there's nothing better than the laptop.
Oh...and here's a few pictures of our furbabies: Loofy is back to his playful self now that his ear has mostly healed and the bandages and cone have been removed.
We're pretty sure he's happier than Petra about this development.
That's it. If there's anything to take pictures of, I will do so and make an end of February wrap up post...but that's all I've got for now.

First in February

Well I finally get around to posting in February and I don't even have that many pictures...I just have not been all that camera-happy lately. Maybe its because I am way behind on my scrapbooking so I am subconsciously making my picture load lighter so that it will be possible to catch up at some point? I don't know. But here are some pictures of what we've been doing.
At the beginning of the month, Loofy had surgery on his ear. We couldn't get the bandage wet so when it rained, we had to cover it with a shopping bag. It was so pathetic, that it was definately picture-worthy!
Hey you'd be pissy too if you knew evidence was being obtained of your pathetic-ness!
Here's Kaylee and Daddy in a lazy but very cute moment, watching Saturday morning cartoons together.
Last weekend we went to Vermont to see G-Pa and our friend Mike joined us for some skiing. We all had breakfast together.
G-Pa was a wonderful host as usual, you just can't beat his breakfasts.
Even Kaylee thought breakfast merited applause.
Kaylee made sure to have a little one-on-one time with Mike before it was time to head home.
And who's that in the puppy's crate? Kaylee just wanted to check out the optional accomidations.
She thought better of the rest of the house though..."too cramped in there," she thought.
Hey, that's who belongs in the crate, here's Mike's puppy, Nutmeg. Lucky Nutmeg didn't appear bothered by the intrusion.
Well that's it, sad I know, I figure I'll get back into the camera thing eventually. Hopefully that is enough to hold y'all over for now. Ciao.

January Wrap-up

Alright, Sunday January 20th we went over to our friends Shyam's & Emily's house to watch the final Patriots playoff game. As you can see...Daddy was rivited, Kaylee was...not.
Here's Shyam in the background while Kaylee makes 'nice' with her friend, Chase.
Kaylee played a little with baby Saige as well, while big brother Chase made sure there was no foul play.
Then, this past Sunday we had our friends Christina, Jason and Henry over for dinner. Kaylee and Henry got along swimmingly, sharing their love for the Wiggles.
Kaylee felt that a fellow Wiggles fan deserved a nice big hug. Not too sure how Henry feels about it though.
He soon got into the spirit though and takcled Kaylee with his own hug.
Not sure why but on Monday Kaylee started hiking up her pants and walking around the house that way. Even she thought it was hysterical, so it clearly merited a picture.
And a close-up too.
Happy January.
