Happy Halloween

To start off our Halloween post...a freaky cool pic of the moon on Halloween night...ooooooo.
Are we all in the mood now?We went down to Grammy & Grampy's for Trick-Or-Treating. The houses are closer together which makes the experience more fruitful and more enjoyable for little legs.
Meet our starlet witch, who got lots and lots of compliments (and candy!)
Enter...Princess Rowan (note: it was 70 degrees, the spider costume was not an option, it was just too warm.)
Being among the youngest trick-or-treaters, Rowan got many compliments. We were just amazed at how well she held up, we figured she wouldn't be into it at all, but she wanted to walk and she totally was into getting presents from strangers! (Yay?)
Also in the span of the evening, listening to us tell Kaylee to say 'trick or treat' and Kaylee actually saying so...Rowan started approaching people and saying, "treat." It was very cute.
Kaylee held up pretty well again this year, but unlike her younger sister, she needed a break.
Still...nothing like the thought of more brew ingredients to get a young witch motivated.
See that doll in Ro's hands? She got it from one of the houses that was early on our route. She apparently says 'dolly' too now and she didn't let go of it for the rest of the night...even when going for more loot.
The witch and the vampire start the route.
Kaylee and Rowan had no problem heading straight toward the scary face-painted guy. Hey, he had candy!
Earlier that day, we went to a Halloween Party at one of Daddy's co-worker's home. They had a bouncy house which Kaylee quickly used to her advantage. Body-slam the 1-year-old. Yay!
Rowan struggled at first, but she had a lot of fun.
Swinging sisters.
Believe it or not, this was a shriek of glee.
Same side of the swing now to make room for our new friend.
Rowan gets into the spirit of Halloween with a scowl.
Happy Ro.
The kiddie table.
Craft time...Halloween themed fun things to do...sign us up.
Kaylee worked very hard on her spider web, haunted house and ghost.
Rowan worked very hard on looking cute while Mommy made her one.
Kaylee found some bubbles and gave it a go.
On Friday, the MOMS Club had a Halloween party. Kaylee posed.
Rowan over-heated in her spider suit...again.
But they both had fun with their friends.
On Thursday, the kids wore their costumes to library story time.
Kaylee was adjusting Rowan's cape.
Kaylee got a ton of wear out of her Halloween costume this year.
Awwww, sad spider.
Tired spider.
Spider monkey.
Spider that got changed when it got too warm!
At Kaylee's dance class on Wednesday, the dancers wore their costumes and Rowan tried out her punk rocker look. Note, she picked out the purple and silver necklaces all by herself (bypassing the pinks, whites, greens, yellows etc.) A future fashionista?
Happy Halloween! I am going on a camera vacation again.

On the First Day of Halloween

Halloween will be a week long event around these parts. Now I only bought the girls 2 Halloween shirts each...so we will be doing some extra laundry and you will see some repeat outfits. Anyway, today we debuted these "Bootiful" shirts. As you can see Kaylee is already getting sick of the matching outfits.
But anything is better with a snack.
Kaylee doesn't mind posing solo though.
This was a pic of Rowan laughing. Love it. (That is a personal declaration and not an order.)
We headed to Great-Grandma Chip's retirement village for the morning. The girls had fun playing on the spinning chair.
Kaylee is a very affectionate big sister...especially when she has an audience that is not Mommy and Daddy.
This is not a particularly good pic of Kaylee, but it is of Great-Grandma and those are a rare commodity.
Ahhh, that's more like it, good of Kaylee, not so much for Great-Grandma.
When we got home from Great-Grandma's place it was time to get ready for our Trunk or Treat Party. (The MOMS Club descends on a member's home and parks in a big line on the street...we then all open our trunks and the kids trick or treat at each car. The only rule is: no candy. So lots of Halloween themed stickers, pencils, temporary tattoos, pretzels, goldfish etc...tons of fun.)
Anyway, guess what Kaylee is going to be this year....
Now this is a spider that Mommy actually likes!
We had a near scare with our nice camera (luckily Mommy only broke the $20 UV filter and not the $700 lens--phew!) so I had to take our slow point and click to the actual event. Still it didn't do that badly.
The Itsy Bitsy Spider...(meanwhile she's bigger than any real spider...right?!?!)
Here's Ro hanging out with Cheerleaders for the Red Sox and Patriots.
Kaylee wasted no time finding fun things at the party while we waited for all the cars to line up.
Cute little witch isn't she?
Here she was practicing her cackle...no, I am not kidding.
Like I said, slow camera...
Snow White and the Witch. Hopefully Emily will not eat any apples Kaylee might offer...
And that's it, I am totally caught up...there are no pictures on my camera at the moment. However, these were all taken yesterday and it is not even 7am today...so I won't be caught up for long. Enjoy!
