The Swing is the Thing!

Alright...there are a bunch of swing pictures, because that's what Kaylee likes to do...she likes to swing, and happily for Mommy...so does Rowan.
I am forced to wonder if I've already outlived my use as they entertain each other so well these days.
I got a few good action shots of Kaylee on the swing...which is rare because while she is a gorgeous child...she has this thing with camera where she sees them and scrunches up her face to say 'cheese' and somehow ends up looking drunk!
Daddy keeps telling me that sometimes the best shots are ones where they are not looking...here, he is certainly right!
I have dubbed these my artsy shots of Kaylee...and I really like them.
Here, she was issuing an order: "Follow me Mommy." She is getting quite bossy.
I am really not sure why, but I really love the following 2 pictures.
She loves being outside.
"Mommy, what does that sound like?"
Answer: an off-camera airplane in the sky.
Rowan loves being outside as well...not quite as much as Kaylee since she is not yet mobile, but she does love it.
Daddy loves how she already holds onto the swing..."lets rock 'n' roll."
This is my current favorite Rowan picture. Maybe Daddy is onto something with this 'not trying so hard to get them to look at the camera' thing.
Here are some sequence of events shots: Kaylee decided instead of pushing Rowan in the swing, she would try something different.
Twisting Rowan in the swing.
She put some muscle into it.
I was sort of concerned about the result (although clearly not enough to put down the camera and intervene.)
But clearly...I had nothing to worry about...she loved it!
Despite the happy reception...Kaylee was not up for an encore.
Loofy is doing pretty well. The vet is pleased with the healing thus far.
But as you can see from our normally active dog...he is desperately ready for the bandage to come off.
Not yet, buddy, soon though...if a few more weeks qualifies as 'soon.'
Rowan needs to be taught that there is a method to eating bananas...
a certain process, if you will.
And to wrap things up...the classic, can't get both kids to look at the camera schtick...here, neither are looking.
Here, Rowan is looking, but not Kaylee.
And here, Kaylee is looking...but not Rowan.
And that wraps up the merry old month of May. Hopefully I will be a little more camera happy in June.

A smattering of miscellaneous-ness

I have been remiss in taking, downloading and editing my photos this month. Its been a very busy time for us. However, we love this close up shot of a genuine Kaylee smile!
One of the reasons we've been busy...is this lil guy. Loofy had surgery this month and is recovering nicely, but requires a good amount of supervision leaving Mommy with less time for the camera and computer.
Rowan has started finger foods. She absolutely loves Cheerios.
Just ask her!
She will also eat cubed banana or small pieces of strawberry if there are absolutely no Cheerios in sight.
This morning (even though she's wearing the same PJs, I swear it was a different morning than the Cheerios pictures) I snuck in with a camera once Rowan started making noises...at first she was a bit grumpy at the intrusion.
But once she saw who was behind the lens, she was all smiles. I love when she wakes up happy.
Speaking of waking up...it seems nap time is over. Oh well, at least I got the posts up...no time for proof-reading though. I hope its grammatically readable.

A Family Gathering

On Saturday...we all packed up and headed to CT for a combination graduation/several birthdays/Mother's Day extravaganza!
It was nice to see Daddy's side of the family, and the girls did extremely well especially considering the amount of time in the car and the 'no nap' situation.
It was great to see Ba...the main Birthday Boy of the celebration.
Rowan took no time at all cuddling up to Bampa.
"Come here, Bampa, its time for a noozle!"
Kaylee agreed to a quick photo op with Bampa too...but she was really only interested in making silly faces.
Here's Auntie Abbie's other half who is one of Kaylee's favorite boys! She is always excited about seeing Josh...often supplying his name if I dare leave him off the list of the people we might see!
And of course...Auntie Abbie, another guest of honor at the celebration as she has now completed Law School. "Congrats Auntie," said Kaylee. As a note I actually managed to get a few pictures of Meme and the girls too...Meme usually stays out of camera range...so that is good for our scrapbook!
Abbie even tried on her cap and gown for us...Kaylee really liked that part.
This picture would have been so fabulous if Kaylee had just not been trying to wriggle out of Abbie's arms forcing Abbie to compensate...still I think you get the gist.
This was Abbie's "Saved By the Bell" graduation show. Hey, I loved Zach and Slater as much as any girl in my generation...but this reference was still lost on me. My memory stinks though...especially when it comes to television recall abilities.
And our star photographer...again, Auntie Abbie...even got a few cute pictures of our family. What would we do without her? But still...Kaylee was more interested in making funny faces than smiling.
Oh, well...we take what we can get right?
