Disney, Day 2, September 9th

Wednesday brought us to the Animal Kingdom...where we started off by walking the Gorilla trail where sure enough we found a gorilla. When Rowan cried out, he grunted back at her...it was sort of cute. Then it was time for our breakfast at Tusker House. This was probably one of best meals but also one of our most frustrating waits...in fact, maybe our only real wait. We probably wasted close to an hour hanging out waiting for our reservation number to come up. Frustrating, but totally worth it in the end, because Kaylee got to see Daisy!
We told Daisy how much Kaylee loved watching her on Mickey Mouse Club House and Daisy wrote an extra special note for Kaylee after signing her autograph book. So nice.
She also hung around long enough for Kaylee to give her one more hug.
Donald's Safari Breakfast at Tusker House would not be complete without a visit from Donald himself. Kaylee got right down to business with her autograph book.
And then a big hug of course.
Mickey came by too...always happy to smile for the camera.
He was trying to wave to Kaylee and get her attention regarding her birthday pin, but she was all business with the autograph book.
Last but not least, Goofy stopped at our table,
Kaylee had to stand on her chair to give him a hug!
Then, we were off on our safari ride.
Our team was ready to explore the jungle and savanna.
Well, Kaylee wasn't so sure about it as we got started.
But as we started seeing the animals, she was definitely into it.
Considering how much jostling around we were doing I am amazed I got some good pictures.
Kaylee really liked the giraffes, we saw quite a few of them.
And we got to see quite a few elephants which seem to be Kaylee's favorite animal.
We intended to leave immediately following the safari to go home for a nap before trying to get back in time for the parade...but both girls fell asleep in the stroller before we got to the gate, so Daddy and I took turns walking around with them while the other got to ride Expedition Everest which we had never seen. And another nice benefit of the stroller nap, was the great seats we had for the parade. As you can see Rowan liked her view.
The Jammin' Jungle Parade was very fun. Check out this giant lizard puppet.
And of course, the characters were all around saying hi and interacting with the audience. Here's Pluto.
And Minnie.
And, Mickey, of course.
And Goofy was there too.
And Rafiki rounded out the parade. It was a lot of fun.
Then it was off to the Festival of the Lion King.
We sat in the lion section, but we were near the warthog side too.
Both girls really liked the show.
What's not to like. Singing...dancing...
Fire dancing...

And acrobatic monkeys!
Kaylee really liked that part!
The flying birds were beautiful.
Hard to photograph though.
Regardless, we were all mesmerized.
We also got to see Finding Nemo: The Musical, which Kaylee really liked. She's in sort of Nemo phase these days.
Crush! No flash photography, so the pictures are a bit artsy!
Marlin and Dorrie.
The fish tank.
The front curtain, I sort of like how the picture came out!
We also found Terk on our way out in a little alcove. Terk is apparently pretty rare, she wasn't even on our autograph book check-list...so lucky us. After securing Terk's autograph, Kaylee wanted to find "more gorillas!"
We found a nice view of the Tree of Life that we posed the girls at.
Kaylee even graced us with a smile, although she wasn't looking at the camera.
This is one of Grant's favorite pictures.
And that was our day at Animal Kingdom.
Phew, 2 days down, 4 more to go! Patience, please its going to take time.
