Disney, Day 4, September 11th

On our 4th day of park exploration, we headed to DHS...Disney's Hollywood Studios (formerly MGM Studios)We were lucky...as soon as we got there we spotted Kaylee's favorite mouse: Minnie.
And right across the way was our pal, Donald.
I wish I had been thinking about the sun positioning...poor Kaylee and Rowan were looking directly into it.
And just a little further down the street was Chip & Dale.
I wish Disney would do our lawn...
I had thought that Kaylee would love DHS because it is a show-heavy theme park, however, she surprised us and turned out to be a thrill ride gal, so DHS was not as popular as I'd have thought. But she did really like the Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage show.
Takes the movie and cuts it down to less than 1/3 of the running time...Kaylee loved the dancing.
And she recognized many of the characters, including the 'Big Bad Beast.'
I am not sure she understood the transformation at the end...but she doesn't in the movie either so, oh well.
One show I was sure she was going to like was Playhouse Disney Live on Stage...all of her favorite Disney Cartoons together in one show. And to show you how 'not' crowded the park was: when at Disney can you get a shot like this with no one around?!
Our character meal for the day: Play 'n' Dine at Hollywood & Vine featuring Jojo & Goliath from Jojo's Circus and Leo & June from Little Einsteins. Everyone in the restaurant (which really wasn't that many) including the characters and MC sang Happy Birthday to Kaylee.
Kaylee & Goliath.
Kaylee & Jojo.
Kaylee & June...she was so excited to get to see the Little Einsteins.
Rowan still showing signs of not really digging the characters...but can we pretend its a smile?
Leo!
My attempt at some fun(ky) photography.
The same shot, but with the other child.
And we all posed at the front of the restaurant's buffet on the way out...hard to see in the small version, but this is a pretty good photo.
We went back to our hotel for a nice rest and swim and then headed back to the Magic Kingdom for a special event. Doesn't the castle look pretty as the sun is starting to descend?
We started Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (henceforth to be known as MNSSHP) at our favorite quick service restaurant for a little dinner...but Cosmic Rays was hosting some special entertainment on this special night. Dance Party with Stitch, Goofy and Pluto!
Rowan was totally into the dance party (she was also our only child to be wearing her costume...Kaylee was not into it. And I just decided that it would be much more fun to have a happy toddler than malcontent in a pretty dress.)
We had front-row seats for the show...it was very cool.
As a side note: Kaylee was not into the dance party...but the next thing we did was go to a Villains Mixer (sorry not many pictures, we were sort of late and it was getting to dark to fumble the camera and both kids.) So while Kaylee was not into the dance party with Stitch/Pluto/Goofy (you know the good guys) she was totally into dancing with Cruella/Hook/Malificent/the wicked Queen etc--what does that say exactly?
Anyway...MNSSHP was awesome...if money grew on trees we would go every year, specifically in September when it is not as crowded as it reportedly gets on its October dates. So many characters out that you normally just don't get to see and most in cool costumes! Trick-or-treat stations all over the place giving out prizes. It was a ton of fun...besides where else do you get to see all 7 Dwarves at once? We didn't end up waiting in line to get our picture taken with them as we wanted to get to the parade, but I still snagged a good shot.
Kaylee didn't let the late hour deter her from riding her favorite rides.
She got to go on the carousel several times in a row without getting off and we went on the Tea Cups several times only having to wait 1 round between each of our own.
So off we went to stake our spot for the parade.
We were there 1/2 an hour early which might have been a waste of time in terms of we could have been riding rides or whatever...
but considering that by the time the parade came the crowd was 4 rows thick, we were glad we waited. Considering the late hour...we were amazed at how well both girls were doing...just a little bit more of that Disney Magic.
So anyway, we had a great vantage point for Mickey's Boo To You Halloween Parade.
All of Kaylee's favorites dressed up in their Halloween finery.
In some ways its good that Kaylee (and Rowan) has no idea that zombies are supposed to be scary.
Jasmine & Aladdin danced for us.
Here comes Pooh's gang: Daddy thought Pooh's costume was sort of lame given his new gig and all.
Pluto came by driving Goofy's candy truck complete with tons of Disney folks passing out candy to the audience.
Take a look at Cinderella's carriage: this only comes out for special events as I can assure you it was not there any other time we were at the Magic Kingdom.
After the parade we found another dance party with Donald, Daisy, and Mickey...
and this time Kaylee actually danced with the good guys.
Finally, way past bedtime, we headed back to our resort, taking a few more snapshot of the Halloween decor on our way out.
We even got to see a lot of the fireworks show, but neither of the girls were all that taken in by them so we decided to try to beat the rush home.
So that was MNSSHP--so much fun, the pictures don't do it justice, I definitely would love to go back with the kids through the years and make it at least a bi-yearly tradition.
