Disney, Day 5--a day of rest.

On our 5th day of Disney, we decided to sleep in! After our long night at MNSSHP (see next post for explanation) we needed a bit of a break. So we swam in the morning, went to Downtown Disney in the rain for some shopping and a yummy lunch, went back to our hotel for another rest and then finally headed over to Epcot just as the rain was ending.
Again, how uncrowded is it when on a Saturday, we can get this shot with no one else in it?
We didn't have too much time in Epcot before our dinner reservation so we wanted to make sure we hit the rides Kaylee would like...so first we went to the Seas with Nemo & Friends. We road this several times with no lines, Kaylee liked the clam cars.
Mommy liked the spooky looking jellyfish!
Then it was time for Turtle Talk with Crush. This, I must say was very cool! The turtle was answering the kids questions in real time, and Kaylee thought it was great.
Then we had time to do 2 Kidcot stops before dinner.
Kaylee had a lot of fun at these and I will admit I wish I had allocated more time to Epcot because there are a ton of these Kidcot stations and she really liked them. From the descriptions I'd read and the research I'd done I thought she wouldn't be into them, but I was definitely wrong.
But then it was time to head over to the Garden Grill for dinner. This was probably our least favorite meal and one we will happily forgo in the future, but Kaylee loved the characters all the same and the fact that restaurant spun around so that we were always looking at different scenery was pretty cool.
First up...Farmer Mickey.
Kaylee always has a hug for Mickey.
One might have thought that by the 5th character meal Rowan would have been used to this, but eh, still not so much.
Mickey signed Kaylee's autograph book (again!)
Pluto came by too, for a nice hug with Kaylee.
He tried to make Rowan happy too...which he only accomplished when he finally left, but Kaylee was really into his antics and Rowan was only half-heartedly complaining.
Big hugs for Kaylee's 3rd favorite dog (or maybe 4th favorite--she really likes Grammy & Grampy's dog: Duncan a lot.)
Dale tried to give us a photo with both kids, but Rowan was being, well Rowan by this point.
Kaylee was all smiles for Dale though.
Big hugs.
Dale too, tried really hard to get Rowan to smile...which she didn't, but hey, at least she wasn't crying!
And when there's Dale, there's also Chip!
Kaylee always made sure the autograph book was accessible, can't miss out on our 3rd Chip signing!
Chip came by a couple of times, he seemed to like Kaylee (who doesn't?)
Big hugs.
He even did a little birthday twirl dance with her, which she got a kick out of (as did Mommy and Daddy.)
Chip tried his best to make the baby smile: but you know the drill by now.
Still, she rewarded him as best she could for his efforts.
This picture sort of makes it look like he was lunging at her trying to scare her, but I assure you this was a chipmunk's game of peek-a-boo. I applaud all the characters for trying as hard as they did especially given that Rowan gave them so little to work with.
And by the time we were done with dinner we were more or less done with the day! Next time I will definitely plan more time for Epcot, even when the kids aren't big enough for the big-ticket items there was definitely more we could have done!
