Another Birthday; April 29th

On April 29th, Mommy celebrated her first 29th birthday. We went to Texas Roadhouse because Mommy eat's like 4 of their amazing rolls with their amazing apple cinnamon honey butter and then doesn't eat her meal but brings it home...I consider it 2 meals for the price of 1!
Joining us at the table are Phil and Jackie (Emily's parents); 'uncle' Ben, 'auntie' Danielle, and of course Kaylee. Daddy was playing photographer!
And just like Mommy took a montage of pics of Kaylee with Daddy on his birthday in March reading their book; Daddy took a montage of pics of Kaylee with Mommy on her birthday reading their book!
As you can see--at first Kaylee was more interested in the camera than the fine literature.

However, as Mommy started to read she found the story too intriguing to ignore for long.
The climax was so exiting Kaylee had a hard time containing her excitement. "what's going to happen Mommy--how will it end?"
She found that end to be rather a let down after all the excitement of the buildup. "eh," she thought, "i thought it could have been better."
Now--the 'about the author' notes on the back of the book...that was strange! "Mommy, did you read this? What a weirdo!"
All jesting aside, she does love to read, which we are thankful for. We read several books at night as part of her bedtime routine and several books throughout the day and while she loves to grab at the books, attempt to eat the pages, and bang on the book as if it were a drum--at least we are exposing her to books early so hopefully that will translate to at least an enjoyment of reading or more preferably a love for it!
