taking a walk; April 22nd

Taking advantage of the warmer weather, we went for a walk with our neighbor and her baby. The baby you don't recognize is Bailey. We find it funny that their names rhyme and yet are spelled so differently--in fact until recently Bailey's mom assumed Kaylee was spelled 'Kailey.' Anyway...some of you have heard me talk about this "alleged baby" and even though we've gotten together with her and her mom (though not her dad as he is a pilot and is unfortunately not around all that often on weekends) on several occassions; I had never managed to remember my camera until this time.
And actually, truth be told; I didn't remember this time either. After we met up on the walk we steered back to our house so I could run up and get it.
Bailey is just a short 3 weeks younger than Kaylee; born on September 30th. Bailey lives about a half mile up the street from us...sad really as our address is #46 and hers is #22 and yet each house in the development has so much land--there really is about a half mile between the 12 houses.
However, the distance is great at the moment for walking and since the girls are not doing that yet, her mom and I get to catch up while pushing them around, we get some exercise the girls get some sun--everybody wins!
On a different note...we need to buy a new stroller. My parents found this one at a yard sale and I think they paid maybe $10 for it...and at first we thought it was a good deal. We washed all the fabric in the washing machine and my father used his power sprayer to clean the shell--so we were satisfied that it had been sanitized as much as any stroller can be. However, there is something wrong with the seating mechanism--it was fine for a while because Kaylee liked reclining and that's how the stroller came to us. But now Kaylee likes to sit up so she can see everything and the locking mechanism that allows you to secure the seat in an upright, relcined, or laying down position will not activate in the sitting up position--only the reclining and laying down. In these pics we kind of jury-rigged something but I am not comfortable using that method all the time. So so much for saving money on a stroller. We'll be heading to babies 'r us or target this weekend to procure a new stroller now that the nicer weather seems ready to stay.
